What you’ll be doing

  • As a Relief Pharmacist, you will dispense medication accurately, verify prescriptions and counsel patients related to medications.
  • You will supervise Pharmacy Technicians, assist the Pharmacy Manager with inventory and pharmacy operations, and ensure overall patient satisfaction.
  • Required to float to stores throughout the Central IL market.
  • Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
  • Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
  • Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
  • Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
  • Be competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs; provide strong customer service.
  • In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
  • Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
  • Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
  • Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
  • Retail/Community Practice experience.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy systems, policies and procedures, and understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.
