Travel Respiratory Therapist

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU and Level 1 Trauma experience for a night shift assignment requiring Epic EMR proficiency.

Job Details

• Position is based in a hospital respiratory care department,

• Serves neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients including those in NICU and PICU Level 3 or 4 units,

• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week,

• Level 1 Trauma environment,

• Uses ventilators, respiratory therapy and blood gas analysis equipment,

• Epic charting experience required,

Job Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required,

• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience including NICU/PICU and trauma setting,

• Active Illinois RCP license required if applicable,

• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT),

• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required,

• Demonstrated experience with Epic EMR,

• Experience providing care in Level 1 Trauma and NICU Level 3 or 4 required,

Additional Information

• Clean, prepare, evaluate, and manage all respiratory care equipment,

• Document assessments, interventions, and charges in Epic EMR,

• Provide respiratory therapy to patients in inpatient units and emergency room,

• Analyze arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases,

• Recommend further intervention or referrals as needed,

• No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from facility,

• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract,

• Compliance requirements for background and drug screening with specific vendor; allow at least 2 weeks for processing,

• Returning travelers may not stay on assignment longer than 1 year without a 6-month break,
