Provide recruitment and admissions support in a fast‑paced, professional, customer‑focused, and results‑driven environment. Collaborate with program staff to drive enrollment growth for graduate programs through the development of strategic recruitment and relationships, and provide admissions support for current and future degree launches. By collaborating with faculty, facilitators, current students, and alumni, the coordinator will help showcase the Gies experience and build strong pipelines of qualified applicants.
This role will primarily serve online graduate programs.
- Serve as a point of contact and resource for all Gies Graduate programs; counsel and advise prospects as they move through the recruiting process, including consulting them on program fit, answering questions about the admissions process, alleviating concerns, and assisting with application submission.
- Assist or lead the recruitment, training, and retention of student ambassadors and connect prospective learners with student ambassadors; source and organize student ambassador stories for publication.
- Plan, conduct, and/or present at recruiting events both in‑person and virtually, promoting Gies Graduate programs; manage logistics for recruiting events, including Zoom setup, breakout room management, event staffing, etc.; some night and weekend travel obligations as well as domestic and possibly international travel for recruiting events.
- Assist or lead the recruitment, training, and retention of a team of hourly employees and/or student workers; provide training and support in best practices related to customer service.
- Assist with the implementation of recruitment marketing and communications plans, including social media, video creation, websites, blogs, webinars, and email and calling campaigns.
- Assist with the creation and proofing of email and text messaging campaigns for prospective students to understand Gies differentiators, details of the application process and event information.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Gies and University of Illinois processes.
- Review admissions applications using discretion and independent judgment in evaluating and comparing applications; provide input to the admissions committee for admissions decisions.
- Perform informational and assessment interviews of potential candidates.
- Assist with operational functions including transcript verification, course articulation, processing and notification of admissions decisions.
- Monitor trends and challenges in application processes that will help enhance future admissions cycles.
- Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot barriers to the application process; in conjunction with leadership, develop proposals for new initiatives to help reduce or eliminate such barriers.

- Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree. - Experience
Required:
Two years of professional experience; experience working with a diverse population.
- Education Preferred:
Master’s degree in business. - Experience Preferred:
Minimum of one year of relevant experience in recruiting, admissions, or sales.
