Entry level

Perform daily cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of offices, conference rooms, classrooms, lounges, restrooms, entrances, lobbies, hallways, stairwells, medical exam rooms, and other building areas. Duties include cleaning walls, windows, furniture, sinks, countertops, restroom fixtures, floors, carpets, and related spaces.

• Collect trash from waste containers and transport it outside to a dumpster.
• Dust surfaces, wipe or wax furniture, polish metal surfaces, and clean window and door glass.
• Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures; restock restroom dispensers (paper towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, feminine products) and mop restroom floors.
• Dust mop or damp mop floors in entrances, lobbies, halls, lounges, and other areas.
• Vacuum carpets, furniture, or floors.
• Maintain equipment, carts, and supply closets in a clean, orderly manner.
• Order and restock cleaning supplies and paper products as needed.
• Identify and report unsafe or unsanitary conditions, equipment repairs, and other problems to the Area Manager.
• Communicate with customers via logbook.
• Run floor buffer and/or floor scrubber as required.
• Perform other related duties as required, including school summer work (e.g., stripping/waxing floors, moving furniture, operating floor buffer or scrubber).

• Ability to work independently and be self‑motivated.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Physical strength to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must wear a backpack vacuum.
• Good eyesight to detect dust, dirt, and debris.

• Follow written and spoken instructions and routine procedures.
• Read, write, and measure cleaning products.
• Handle interruptions, multiple demands, and variable workload and volume.
• Possess knowledge of cleaning methods, products, tools, and equipment.
• Pay attention to detail regarding quality cleaning practices and health & safety requirements.
• Communicate politely with customers and supervisors.

The position may take place in offices, schools, factories, or medical clinics. Must work outdoors at the dumpster in all kinds of weather and frequently encounter dirty or unsanitary conditions. Frequent exposure to cleaning products. Ability to work evening hours.

Backpack or upright vacuum cleaners; mop and mop bucket; housekeeping cart or barrel with caddy, inserts, and related cleaning items and tools; rubber or latex gloves; and all personal protective equipment.
