We’re seeking a Senior Director, Release Operations to lead and evolve our U.S. brokerage operations while delivering exceptional client experiences across the northern border.
About the RoleAs the Senior Director, Release Operations , you’ll act as a trusted advisor to Livingston’s leaders and teams, driving operational excellence, service delivery, and sustainable growth. You’ll lead multiple client service teams and national service centers, balancing P&L ownership, regulatory compliance, and people leadership.
A clear understanding and hands‑on history within brokerage operations is essential. This role is best suited for a leader who is highly strategic, data-driven, and comfortable using insights and metrics to guide decisions, improve efficiency, and elevate the client experience at scale.
What You’ll Do- Lead the end-to-end delivery of U.S. brokerage services for a defined client segment, ensuring compliant, efficient, and high-quality service
- Coach, mentor, and develop senior leaders and high-performing teams across multiple locations
- Drive operational improvements through workflow optimization, automation, and service excellence initiatives
- Own business performance, including P&L accountability, expense management, and workforce planning
- Leverage data, KPIs, volumes, and accuracy metrics to inform decisions and measure success
- Act as a liaison across operating units to resolve issues, remove barriers, and create stronger organizational alignment
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, proactively addressing issues and driving continuous improvement
- Partner with Sales and Service teams to align on client commitments, deadlines, and growth opportunities
- Identify creative, cost-effective staffing and resource solutions to manage volume fluctuations
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion, employee engagement, and leadership development
- Lead change thoughtfully, supporting initiatives that strengthen Livingston’s U.S. and North American brokerage strategy
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including managing multiple brokerage offices or stations
- Proven experience with P&L ownership across multi-site operations
- Deep, working knowledge of customs brokerage operations and regulatory requirements
- A strategic, data-oriented mindset with the ability to translate insights into action
- Strong business acumen and sound judgment in complex decision-making environments
- A collaborative, results-oriented leadership style with a passion for coaching and developing talent
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving, and sometimes ambiguous environments
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation required (or actively working toward completion)
- Successful completion of the CCS exam is required for continued advancement
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) designation preferred
