Electrical Designer

Conceptualize, design, and document the electrical aspects sufficient to support the design, manufacturing, and service of Frasca products. Design may include new product development or modification and support of existing product.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Master and continue to perform essential functions of associate electrical designer role.
  • Read and interpret aircraft manuals to determine system functionality.
  • Locate part substitutes as needed.
  • Review technical and contractual documentation to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Troubleshoot designs and determine the best approach to solve design or manufacturing-related problems.
  • Support manufacturing in all aspects including answering questions or assembling equipment.
  • Design and create room requirements drawings and proposals.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other engineering departments.
  • Communicate with vendors and determine sources of purchased components.
  • Provide support for Marketing and Project Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum education:

Associate's degree from college/tech school (2 yr)

Minimum experience:

1-5 years

  • Computer MS Office:
    Outlook, Word, Excel
  • E3, Solidworks, Altium
  • General office equipment
  • Soldering iron
  • Multimeter, clamp meter, oscilloscope
  • Crimping tools
  • Hand tools
  • Power tools

Physical demands and work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
