Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring Level 3-4 NICU experience and Epic proficiency, working night shifts at a hospital in Illinois.
Responsibilities- NICU setting within an acute care hospital environment
- Neonatal patient population including high-acuity Level 3-4 NICU cases
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts
- Epic EMR — experience required
- Responsibilities include completing patient admissions assessments, developing and adjusting individualized plans of care, and monitoring intake and output for neonatal patients
- Administers medications using barcode scanning and participates in multidisciplinary rounds
- Supports breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning after reaching the 1-year mark
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Current NRP certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 3–5 years of NICU experience strongly preferred
- Level 3-4 NICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
- English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing)
