Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a mid-shift travel position at a Level 1 Trauma facility in Illinois, requiring Epic experience and an IL RN license.
Responsibilities- Emergency Department (ED) setting at a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Mid shift schedule: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- Two call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation to be onsite within one hour
- All travelers are required to complete a 2-week nights rotation
- Epic EMR experience required
- Performs patient assessments, develops and continuously modifies individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Responsible for accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care provided
- Promotes patient and staff safety through adherence to safety standards and timely reporting of hazards
- Collaborates effectively with staff, visitors, and families to support a healthy work environment
- RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
- First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible — experienced travelers preferred given Level 1 Trauma and call shift requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
