BLS, ACLS, PALS
Must-Have:
- Peripheral vascular work
- Venous central lines
- Tube changes
- Neuro (ideal)
- Embolization work (arterial/venous)
- Venous thrombectomy work
Description:
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service.
Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and based on patient and family needs.
Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
Modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions.
Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
Evaluates and enhances nursing practice by utilizing the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope and Standards of Practice to provide direct 1:1 patient care to adult patients undergoing various diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Administers moderate sedation and other medications safely by following established policies.
Performs hemodynamic monitoring, identifying potential life-threatening arrhythmias, and implements appropriate clinical treatment.
Collaborates with patients and families to answer questions and provide emotional support when needed.
Enhances patient care activities and acts as a safety advocate through participation in ongoing department quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects.
Coordinates safe care delivery through effective communication with a multi-disciplinary team.
Recognizes and adapts to potential changes in procedures while responding to emergent situations.
Participates in a fun, supportive, collaborative environment while working as part of a cohesive staff team, comprised of RNs and Radiology Technologists.
Administers medications necessary for procedures.
Manages care of patients during moderate sedation.
Monitors hemodynamics throughout procedures.
Provides outline documentation of procedure events.
Understands the use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures.
