Travel RN - GI​/Endoscopy

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience.

Job Details

• Ambulatory surgery center (CASC) setting specializing in outpatient GI/Endoscopy procedures,

• Patients undergoing routine GI procedures including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy,

• Rotating through prep, intra-procedure, and recovery (Phase 1 and Phase
2) phases of care,

• Moderate sedation administered under physician direction,

• Assists CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement,

• 4 x 9-hour day shifts per week with rotating start times typically between 0630 and 0800,

• 36 hours per week,

• No weekend or holiday shifts required,

• Floating required between the Champaign Endoscopy Center and the Digestive Health Department,

• Epic EMR used; experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted,

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required,

• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required,

• ASN required; BSN preferred,

• Epic EMR experience required,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, IV placement, patient education, procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and care coordination across all phases of the endoscopy encounter,

• Delegates to unlicensed personnel as appropriate and collaborates with unit staff to support outpatient care,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted,

• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract,

• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning after reaching the 1-year mark
