Travel RN - GI​/Endoscopy

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring at least 3 years of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and an active IL RN license.

Job Details

• Ambulatory surgery center (CASC) endoscopy setting,

• Cares for outpatient GI patients undergoing colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures,

• RN rotates through prep, intra-procedure, and Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery,

• Administers moderate sedation under physician direction and assists CRNAs during anesthesia cases,

• Floating between two endoscopy/digestive health locations required,

• 4 x 9-hour day shifts per week with rotating start times typically between 0630 and 0800,

• No weekend or holiday shifts required,

• Epic EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted),

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required,

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience required,

• ASN required; BSN preferred,

• Epic EMR experience required,

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, IV placement, patient education, procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery care,

• Collaborates with unit staff and delegates to unlicensed personnel as appropriate,

• Maintains accurate nursing documentation for integration by the broader care team,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible,

• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract,

• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any facility within the system
