Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Cardiology

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg position in Urbana, IL, requiring a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma background.

Job Details

• Cardiovascular Med/Surg unit caring for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients,

• Patient population includes post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients,

• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM),

• 5-6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule,

• Holiday coverage on a department rotation basis,

• No floating requirements,

• Epic EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted),

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association),

• Minimum 3 years of relevant RN experience,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Level 1 Trauma experience required,

• ASN required; BSN preferred,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible,

Additional Information

• Provide direct post-operative care to CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients,

• Responsibilities include completing admission assessments, developing and modifying individualized care plans, and performing hourly rounding,

• Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the broader healthcare team,

• Contributes to peer development through constructive feedback and collaborative knowledge sharing,

• Candidates who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system,

• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract,
