Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Cardiology

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg position in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Job Details

• Cardiovascular Med/Surg unit (CT6B - Cardio) within a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients,

• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM,

• Approximately 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule,

• Holiday coverage required on a departmental rotation basis,

• No floating requirements,

• Epic EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted),

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association),

• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience,

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Level 1 Trauma experience required,

• Skills in vascular surgery care, thoracotomy care, CABG care, and post-operative care,

Additional Information

• Provides direct care to cardiovascular med/surg patients, including post-operative CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery cases,

• Responsibilities include completing initial patient assessments, developing and modifying care plans, implementing nursing interventions, and performing hourly rounding,

• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team,

• Supports patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards and incidents,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted,

• Travelers who have been on assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the system,

• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract,
