Overview

$5,000 sign‑on bonus and $5,000 relocation (for > 100 miles) or $2,500 relocation (for > 50 miles) for nurses with 1 or more years of experience

Responsibilities
  • Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
  • Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
  • Maintains up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
  • Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and based on patient and family needs.
  • Implements plan of care, nursing interventions and patient care procedures, modifying the plan based upon continuous evaluation.
  • Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
  • Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
  • Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions.
  • Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
  • Evaluates and enhances nursing practice by utilizing the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope and Standards of Practice to provide direct 1:1 patient care to adult patients undergoing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Administers moderate sedation and other medications in a safe manner by following Carle Policies.
  • Performs hemodynamic monitoring, identifies potential life‑threatening arrhythmias, and implements appropriate clinical treatment.
  • Collaborates with patients and families to answer questions and provide emotional support when needed.
  • Enhances patient care activities and acts as a safety advocate through participation in ongoing department quality improvement and evidence‑based practice projects.
  • Coordinates safe care delivery through effective communication with a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Recognizes and adapts to potential changes in procedures while responding to emergent situations.
  • Participates in a fun, supportive, collaborative environment while working as part of a cohesive 3‑4 staff team, comprised of RNs and radiology technologists.
  • Administers medications necessary for procedures.
  • Manages care of patients during moderate sedation.
  • Monitors hemodynamics throughout procedures.
  • Provides detailed documentation of procedure events.
  • Understands use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year – American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year – American Heart Association (AHA).
  • College diploma in nursing (Required).
Benefits & Compensation

Salary Range: $32.63 per hour – $56.12 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
