Certification Details
- The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame, providing care via the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy.
- Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit specific to the scope of service.
- Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
- Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.
- Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
- Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
- Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicates directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
- Offers constructive feedback to assist professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge.
- Identifies own learning needs and initiates appropriate solutions.
- Fulfills all departmental competency requirements.
- Department specific functions include providing direct care to CVICU patients (Post-op day CABG, Vascular and ICU status patients).
- Maintains clean and tidy work environment.
- Maintains hospital and unit based competencies.
- Performs hourly rounding on patients.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to assist internal and external customers.
Job Details
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
- Required
Education:
ASN. - Preferred Education:
BSN. - Required Certifications & Licensure:
Illinois state RN License in good standing, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association).
Job Requirements
- Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
- 12 hours per day.
- 36 hours per week.
Schedule Information
- Unit: CVICU/Stepdown.
- Patient population includes post-op day CABG, vascular, and ICU status patients.
