LPN - Surgical T7; Inpatient

Role Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) collaborates with RNs to provide patient care, assisting with medication administration, IV piggybacks, trach care, dressing changes, and documentation after assessments by RNs. When patients are admitted, the LPN supports the UNL with patient load management.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications and hang IV fluids (excluding IV push meds)
• Chart assessments, care plans, and updates in collaboration with RNs
• Communicate with physicians and APPs for orders and care coordination
• Perform dressing, trach, NG tube, and ostomy care
• Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid LPN license (IDFPR)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• College diploma as an LPN
• Ability to perform clinical tasks independently and communicate effectively

Key Duties
Providing direct patient care, supporting care planning, documenting assessments, and ensuring proper communication for safe, effective treatment.
