American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Observation Unit position requiring Illinois RN licensure and Epic charting experience.
Details- Work in the Medical Observation Unit of a hospital environment
- Day shift schedule from 7:00AM to 7:30PM
- 36 hours per week over 3 days per week on a 12-hour shift schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- Every other holiday coverage required
- Floating to similar units required
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Assesses IV sites every 4 hours and starts new IVs per facility policy
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Basic computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
- Strong critical thinking and independent judgment skills
- Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process to assigned patients, including assessment, care planning, and implementation of interventions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care, with quarterly chart audits required
- Identify changes in patient status and respond appropriately
- Attend a minimum of 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year
- Report and correct safety hazards for patients and staff
- Collaborate with colleagues and provide constructive feedback to support professional development
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Returning contingent workers must take a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning to this health system
