American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU night shift position requiring at least two years of relevant nursing experience and NRP certification.

• Work in the Neonatal ICU (NICU) unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• No on-call responsibilities
• 5 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Every other holiday coverage required
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Utilizes barcode scanning for medication administration

• Active Illinois state RN license in good standing required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current NRP certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum two to three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in medication administration, multi-disciplinary communication, documentation, and breastfeeding support

• Provide direct nursing care to a designated group of neonatal patients using the nursing process
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implement and modify nursing interventions and patient care procedures based on ongoing evaluation
• Monitor intake and output for assigned neonatal patients
• Assist mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices
• Report on patient assignments during multi-disciplinary rounds
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for integration with the healthcare team
• Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
