American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 2 trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 3:00PM-3:00AM
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
• 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with call shifts lasting 13 hours and onsite response expected within one hour
• 2-week nights rotation required for all travelers
• No block scheduling available
• Uses Epic EMR for charting

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Trauma Level 2 experience required
• TNCC certification highly preferred
• Epic EMR charting experience required

• Provide direct patient care to ED patients including assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation to support care coordination among the healthcare team
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to develop and modify individualized care plans
• Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to support a healthy working environment and professional development
• This is a high-risk department assignment
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
