Job Summary: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients within a designated time frame. Utilizing the nursing process, trends, technology, and resources, the RN provides comprehensive care aligned with the institution's philosophy. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. The RN ensures patient and employee safety, communicates effectively, and contributes to professional development.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN degree
• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications:
• BSN degree
Department Specific Job Functions:
• Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients every shift
• Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners for patient care
• Delegate and monitor interventions of HCT staff
• Set up ortho traction and manipulate surgical traction devices
• Manage wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
