Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an RN-Operating Room for a Level I trauma hospital setting, requiring IL RN license and 3+ years of relevant experience.

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required

• Works in the Operating Room department supporting general surgery cases
• Day shift schedule from 7a to 5p, four days per week on 10-hour shifts
• On-call coverage required for weekends
• On-call and rotational coverage required for holidays
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Prepares the OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
• Performs patient identification verification and safety timeouts before incision and prior to exiting the OR
• Positions and preps patients for surgery using appropriate safety guidelines and positional aids
• Supports the surgical team intraoperatively by providing supplies, specimens, medications, and other items as needed
• Transports patients to PACU or the appropriate unit and provides handoff report to the receiving RN
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment
• Requested time off (RTO) may not exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
• Previous Carle Health contingent workers who were on assignment for a full year must complete a 6-month break in service before returning
