American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience.

• Work in the Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week across 3 days
• Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
• Will float to similar units
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and care plan documentation for a designated group of Med/Surg patients
• Receive bedside shift report and delegate patient care tasks to Health Care Technicians
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Facilitate timely admission, discharge, and testing coordination for Observation status patients
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure effective patient care coordination
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
