American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience, Epic charting, and ACLS/PALS certification.

• Emergency Department setting within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• 13-week assignment with a 36 hour work week
• Evening shift schedule from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM, 3 shifts per week
• 2-week night shift rotation required for all travelers
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule, each 13 hours with a one-hour onsite response expectation
• No block scheduling available
• Epic EMR charting experience required

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department environment
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers and families
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous patient evaluation
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient documentation
• Promote a safe environment for patients and staff by identifying and reporting hazards
• Collaborate with team members to support a healing and professional work environment
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
• Prior Carle Health contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service if previously on assignment for more than 1 year
