Role Overview:

The Ambulatory Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice.

• Responsibilities:
  Deliver competent patient and family care, ensure adherence to standards and accurate documentation, and provide health and wellness education.
• Act as a preceptor, supporting staff and students’ development, and lead quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in developing departmental policies and procedures, and perform procedures such as Fibroscan, breath tests, and video capsule endoscopy.
• Administer vaccines, provide telephone triage, and handle follow-up, including prior authorization processes.

Must hold an Illinois RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days, and a nursing college diploma. Strong clinical skills, leadership, and ability to educate patients are essential.
