Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Neuro

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Neuro Med/Surg unit requiring an active IL RN license and at least three years of nursing experience.

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Skilled in neurological care, seizure response, medication administration, and critical thinking
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills

• Work in a Neuro Med/Surg unit caring for patients with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week (36 hours weekly)
• Requires coverage of 6 weekend days per scheduling period
• Holiday coverage required per unit rotation
• No floating required
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, care planning, medication administration, and documentation per Med/Surg standards
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks with HCTs
• Perform bedside shift reporting and maintain a safe, healing patient environment
• Identify and respond immediately to neurological changes or seizure activity
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, isolation protocols, and ambulation safety measures
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Previous contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning
