American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring an active IL RN license and Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma experience.

• Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 7:00PM-7:30AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR for charting

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

• Responsible for a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Receives bedside shift report, delegates tasks to HCTs, and validates task completion throughout shift
• Performs assessments, hourly rounding, care plan documentation, and patient education for assigned patients
• Administers medications following the 5 Rights:
  Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Route, Right Dose, Right Time
• Maintains patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely admissions/discharges
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
