Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for providing care to a group of patients within a designated time frame. Utilizing the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources, the RN ensures high-quality care in alignment with the institution's philosophy. The role involves collaboration with Pediatric Intensivists and Pediatric Hospitalists to care for Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Advanced Care, and Pediatric Med/Surg patients.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Illinois state RN License in good standing
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- PALS (American Heart Association)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Additional Information:
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Administer medications using proper bar code scanning
- Monitor intake and output of pediatric patients
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
- Notify appropriate provider with high alert lab results
- Serve as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse/neglect cases
- Ensure effective communication with patients and families through hourly rounding, bedside reports, and whiteboard updates
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes
