Job Summary: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for providing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources. The RN ensures patient safety, maintains accurate documentation, and collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
- ASN degree.
- Illinois state RN License in good standing.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN degree.
Additional Information:
- Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Collaboratively identify patient goals of care and maintain care plans with patients and families.
- Implement interventions, including medication administration and evaluation of effects.
- Prepare patients for procedures, pain management, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor labs.
- Discharge patients and provide instructions for safe transitions from the hospital.
- Document all care using EMR.
- Ensure team huddles occur regularly.
- Delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up.
- Provide basic care such as turning and toileting per standards of care.
- Engage in professional communication and conflict management with team members.
