American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac/Pulmonary Med-Surg RN for a night shift position requiring Cardiac/Tele, Level 1 Trauma, and Epic charting experience.

• Cardiac/Pulmonary Med-Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Manages care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Utilizes Epic for documentation
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 6 weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Floats to similar units as needed
• No on-call requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• Cardiac/Telemetry experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Skilled in IV venipuncture, pain management, medication administration, blood administration, and lab monitoring

• Performs patient assessments, develops and modifies plans of care, and implements nursing interventions
• Prepares patients for procedures and manages discharge planning and instructions
• Participates in team huddles and delegates tasks with appropriate follow-up
• Demonstrates strong professional communication, delegation, and conflict management skills
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not exceed 1 year on assignment before requiring a 6-month break in service
