Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Chief of Investigations, duties include but are not limited to facility security, staffing a magnetometer, screening visitors, directing visitors, logging evidence, and writing reports. The Security Officer is responsible for assisting investigators in collecting and analyzing information from a variety of sources and for running criminal histories to provide information to investigators and assist them in achieving case objectives.
Security Officers are required to respond anywhere in the Attorney General's Office in the event of emergencies and to assist employees of the Attorney General's Office in the event of unruly or distraught clients or visitors.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field, or a minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement experience and certification from an agency-approved training program of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and a basic knowledge of state, federal, and local laws and regulations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public.
