E. Washington St., Urbana, IL 61802, United States. Pay: $19.68 - $23.00 / Hour. Employee Type: RPC-NON EXEMPT.
Schedule:
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday‑Friday (flexibility may be required). Worksite:
Brookes Administrative Center. Status:
Full‑Time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Schedule and complete intakes and assessments in a timely fashion.
- Assist with client file creation and maintenance.
- Recertify homelessness status.
- Support CES partner collaboration.
- Work with the CES team to ensure up‑to‑date program information is available throughout the county.
- Entry- to mid‑level knowledge and experience in human social services, especially with people impacted by homelessness, mental health, and/or substance use disorder.
- Organized, collaborative, trauma‑informed, with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and grow in supporting households experiencing homelessness, conducting assessments, and understanding CES.
- Associate degree in human services or related field; one year of experience in human services preferred, or a bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Strong background in customer service and human services with the program’s target population.
- Ability to work outside traditional business hours, including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Experience working with people with diverse life experiences, including homelessness, disabilities, medical fragility, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed care principles.
- Knowledge of housing continuums from shelter to home ownership in the service area.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe, reliable vehicle; ability to transport clients using agency vehicles.
- Proficiency in mathematics for daily tasks such as calculating financial eligibility, subsidy assistance, and monitoring expenditures.
- Knowledge of public assistance programs, including eligibility and application process.
- Ability to attend and provide information at community meetings, and share relevant information with the team.
- Excellent listening, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with experience documenting services, maintaining spreadsheets, and managing competing priorities.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in English (spelling, punctuation, grammar).
- Ability to attend worksite regularly.
- Computer skills necessary for case documentation, data entry, research, and timesheets.
- Ability to obtain program‑specific certification(s) within twelve months (e.g., 40‑hour domestic violence professional training).
