Job Description
A Paraprofessional supports teachers and staff in providing instructional, behavioral, and supervisory assistance to students. This position works directly with students individually and in small groups to reinforce instruction, promote positive behavior, and support a safe and productive learning environment.
Qualifications- Valid Educational Aide/Paraprofessional credential or ability to obtain required certification
- Successful completion of the Parapro Assessment (or equivalent qualification)
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification
- Ability to lift and assist students as needed
- Ability to work effectively with young children, families, and staff
- Assist the classroom teacher with instructional and classroom activities
- Support students academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally
- Assist with classroom management and supervision
- Provide personal care services, including diapering, toileting, and hygiene assistance for preschool students
- Support students with daily routines and other developmental needs
- Maintain student dignity, privacy, health, and safety while providing personal care assistance
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, principal, or district administration
