Role

overview

The Production Manager - Converting provides manufacturing expertise to the site’s make-to-order paper converting department. This role ensures that the production of products and processes meets or exceeds safety, quality, service, and productivity expectations while driving a values-based culture that focuses on employee development, retention and manufacturing best practices. The department includes 70+ employees, 18 machines, and evolving 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities
  • Drive operational performance by improving productivity, quality, delivery, and cost through disciplined execution and a focus on results. Experience in Make to Order manufacturing environment required.
  • Build high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and company standards.
  • Apply advanced manufacturing and Lean principles to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, waste elimination, and sustainable business results.
  • Lead and sustain organizational, operational, and cultural change to achieve business objectives.
  • Partner effectively across functions at the site and across the global organization to align priorities, implement and maintain processes, solve problems, and improve overall business performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Green Belt Certification and proven experience of leading continuous improvement projects.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience in 24/7, make-to-order manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building and developing leaders — not simply managing teams, but applying talent management tools, development plans and partnership with L&D, HR improve leadership capabilities and competencies.
  • Proven expertise in make-to-order production environment and utilization of Lean methodology tools to sustain manufacturing processes.
  • Experience managing and adhering to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
  • Strong ERP proficiency required; SAP experience preferred.
  • Solid financial acumen, including cost control, budgeting, and productivity analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate strategically — balancing long‑term planning with operational execution.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Must have experience working in a matrix environment.
