Quality Inspector / Support Specialist
Location: Urbana, Ohio area
Shift: 1st Monday - Friday
Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 / hour
Position Type: Full-time (Overtime required as needed)
Job SummaryWe are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Support Specialist to join our 1st-shift manufacturing operations team. In this role, you will protect product integrity by identifying quality issues, developing inspection plans, and acting as the primary quality liaison for our engineering teams. This position is ideal for an experienced inspector looking to utilize advanced testing equipment, earn industry-standard certifications, and support a high-performing production environment.
EssentialFunctions
- Quality Assurance: Identify product quality defects and lead targeted activities to support both the manufacturing and shipping departments.
- Engineering
Collaboration:
Act as the primary quality support resource, working closely with manufacturing, process, and other specialized engineers. - Inspection Planning: Develop detailed inspection plans, create special instructions, and perform comprehensive First Article Inspections on new products.
- Advanced Equipment Operation: Program and operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and industrial X-Ray machines to verify product integrity.
- Documentation: Meticulously maintain quality control records and inspection data.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 months of assembly experience in a similar manufacturing inspection role.
- Technical
Skills:
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. - Certifications: Must become a certified specialist in IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and J-STD-001 upon the completion of provided training.
- Health Requirement: Must take and pass an annual eye examination.
- Directability: Ability to follow structured technical direction and complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Work Ethic: A documented history of excellent attendance, quality workmanship, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment with a willingness to do what is required to get the job done.
- Flexibility: Complete availability and willingness to work overtime during the week and on weekends when production demands require it.
