This role requires onsite work during the initial training period. After training is completed, the position will transition to a hybrid schedule with approximately six onsite days per month.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant I to support billing and accounting operations. This role will focus on processing billing transactions, applying payments, researching checks, and assisting with disbursements. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Process billing transactions and apply payments accurately
- Perform disbursements and maintain financial records
- Research checks and resolve payment discrepancies
- Prepare and analyze accounting reports, billing statements, and account reconciliations
- Maintain and analyze client or account records
- Assist with variance and trend analysis for key accounts and reports
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions
- Respond professionally to internal and external email communications
- Support the development and documentation of accounting procedures and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and applicable accounting standards
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Access Database
- Internal processing systems
- Workflow management systems
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance-related experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple systems and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience in accounting, finance, or billing operations
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills
