Staff Accountant II

We are seeking Staff Accountant II who can work out of our Urbandale, IA office

- Engage with a global team while maintaining high standards of governance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on company revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606.
- Review contracts for validity and accuracy.
- Produce and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
- Review accruals, deferrals, and journal entry support.
- Assist with timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close and financial statement delivery.
- Lead projects and provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX procedures, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations.
- Play a lead role in continuous improvement of business processes and expansion of global processes.
- Maintain working files, including formulas, macros, and Power BI dashboards.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks, projects, and initiatives as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel, including pivot tables.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior accounting experience (2+ years preferred), including experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience working with internal or external audits and implementing process improvements.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Prior experience in the insurance industry.
- Revenue recognition experience in accordance with ASC 606.
- Experience with GL account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Previous experience in a similar environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
