Staff Accountant

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Fiduciary Accounting Operations team at Marsh
. This role will be based in Urbandale and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of six days per month in the office.

As a Staff Accountant I, you will own core accounting functions, keeping records accurate, closes on track, and reporting reliable while helping strengthen team processes and developing less experienced colleagues.

• Prepare money moves, payments, billing, administrative system accounting reports, and statements
• Prepare and analyze accounting reports, statements, reconciliations, and documentation; ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close
• Maintain accounts and client/insured records, including applying funds, processing account changes, billing, refunds, and carrier/third‑party payment requests
• Perform variation and trend analysis on key accounts and reports; present findings to senior management, partners, carriers, or clients as needed
• Support development, implementation, and documentation of internal and external accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements for general accounting functions
• Review work of and provide guidance to junior accountants and offshore staff
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX, SSAE
  16, carrier agreements, tax regulations, and applicable GAAP and statutory requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 1‑3 years of accounting experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel

• Bachelor's degree
