As a Geotechnical Project Engineer, you'll lead impactful projects from conception through completion, collaborate with industry experts, and mentor the next generation of engineers-all while working in a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage and execute geotechnical engineering projects, including proposal development, field explorations, data review, analysis, and report writing
  • Lead geotechnical analyses related to earthwork, foundation systems, retaining structures, slope stability, and pavement design for diverse public and private projects
  • Supervise and mentor staff engineers and technical personnel, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity in deliverables
  • Collaborate with contractors, clients, and internal teams to define project scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Prepare detailed proposals with scope, fees, and timelines, supporting business development efforts
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Iowa
  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering
  • 5+ years of geotechnical consulting experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience with technical staff
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Master of Science in geotechnical engineering
  • Prior experience interacting directly with clients and preparing proposals
  • Familiarity with regional soil conditions and construction practices
  • Proficiency with boring log and laboratory testing software, as well as Office 365 tools
