Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join a collaborative team of engineers, designers, and technical professionals supporting a diverse portfolio of public and private infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, with an emphasis on site development and municipal infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects from concept through construction and enjoy working across a variety of project types including transportation, commercial, industrial, residential, and public sector developments.
Job ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of stormwater management systems, including detention, retention, and water quality solutions. Design and prepare plans for roadway improvements, storm sewer systems, sanitary sewer systems, and water distribution infrastructure for both public and private projects. Develop engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents using industry‑standard design software. Support project delivery through all phases, including planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
Conduct site visits and construction observations to verify compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements. Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams. Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining quality, schedules, and budgets. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff as needed.
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Iowa required. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. Minimum of 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience. Strong experience with civil site design, municipal infrastructure, and stormwater management. Proficiency with civil engineering design software such as Micro Station, Open Roads, or similar platforms. Ability to travel periodically to project sites and office locations as required.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Proven track record of delivering successful engineering projects and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
