Job Summary

The Land Surveyor in Training will assist the Professional Land Surveyor with research, documentation, office work, and fieldwork related to land surveying projects. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across transportation, municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential development projects while working toward becoming a licensed land surveyor.

What you'll do
  • Perform thorough research of land records using government offices and online resources.
  • Complete boundary calculations using fundamental surveying principles to establish property, right-of-way, and easement lines.
  • Prepare land survey documents including boundary retracement surveys, plats of survey, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, easement/acquisition plats, final plats, and associated legal descriptions.
  • Ensure survey documents comply with applicable state and local ordinances.
  • Review titles and abstracts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring
  • LSIT Certification or actively working toward certification.
  • Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Mathematics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Understanding of coordinate systems and vertical datums.
