Job Summary
W. R. Berkley Corporation is hiring a Financial Analyst for Regulatory Reporting in Urbandale, IA. The role focuses on assimilating and reporting financial regulatory information for over 30 legal entities and 50+ profit centers, processing payments, and assisting with premium tax returns. The position is an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Regulatory Reporting and requires 2‑4 years of insurance experience.
Responsibilities- Assimilate and report financial regulatory information for assigned states from 50+ profit centers representing 30 insurance legal entities.
- Process invoices for payment and respond to correspondence from regulatory agencies.
- Maintain deliverables, invoices, and other correspondence; track due dates and report progress to the Director of Regulatory Reporting.
- Assist with premium tax returns as requested.
- Provide accounting and analytical support to other areas within the organization as needed.
- Participate in special projects.
- Coordinate with profit centers to prepare and gather financial information to file regulatory state forms for 30 legal entities and U.S. territories, including processing payments.
- Process and approve assigned invoices for timely payment of regulatory fees, assessments, surcharges, and other invoices.
- Maintain effective workflow processes to accomplish objectives.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- 2‑4 years of insurance background in state/regulatory reporting.

- Problem Solving: identifies problems, gathers and analyzes information, develops solutions.
- Language skills: reads and interprets regulations, writes business correspondence.

- Planning and Organizational skills: attention to detail and managing multiple tasks.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a four‑year university preferred or a two‑year degree with insurance reporting experience.
- Two years of property and casualty insurance experience preferred.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Hyperion, and Essbase reporting.
- Premium Pro and WINGS experience a plus.
