Position: ELL Associate Translator - Spanish (full-time) - Karen Acres Elementary

ELL Associate

An ELL Associate translates documents and interprets conversations from English to a student/family's first language and from a student/family's first language to English. Additional responsibilities include assisting teachers with working with ELL families, instructional groups, clerical, supervision, and other supportive duties.

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Translate and interpret between English and other languages.

Act as a liaison between the school and English Learner families.

Assist with classroom routines and supervision.

Support students academically as directed by teachers.

Maintain confidentiality and accurate records.

Use technology tools effectively.

Administer individual tests when needed.

Support a positive and organized learning environment.

Maintain a reliable attendance record.

Other duties as assigned.

Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement.

Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.

Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working.

Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.

Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.

Occasional meetings outside the school day.

Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
