Purpose. The ELL Associate translates documents and interprets conversations between English and a student/family’s first language. The role also assists teachers with ELL families, instructional groups, clerical, supervision, and other supportive duties.

• Translate and interpret between English and Spanish (or other languages).
• Act as a liaison between the school and English Learner families.
• Assist with classroom routines and supervision.
• Support students academically as directed by teachers.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
• Use technology tools effectively (Google Docs, Sheets, Forms).
• Administer individual tests when needed.
• Maintain a reliable attendance record.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Para educator certificate preferred.
• Experience: Experience with translating and interpreting. Preference for experience working with children.
• Skills: Ability to translate written materials and interpret conversations; knowledge of English language development; knowledge of different cultures; ability to work effectively with English Learner students, families, and staff; ability to assist individual students or groups; collaboration with teachers; understanding of classroom and building procedures; ability to follow directions and work independently; strong oral and written communication; ability to maintain accurate student records and confidentiality;
  
  ability to use technology.

Position Type: Full‑Time

Salary: $20.20 per Hour
