Reporting to the Project Lead, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing and supporting multiple work streams within a broader program of work. This role ensures that strategy and execution are carried through to completion in alignment with the overall workstream vision.
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of complex transitions and integrations, managing both direct and indirect resources across geographically dispersed locations. This individual must be comfortable engaging with senior-level stakeholders and capable of driving objectives to completion with minimal oversight and direction.
Work streams include people, process, technology, and real estate components that support the delivery of the end-state Target Operating Model for Finance. The role requires experience leading major change initiatives and a proven record of delivering large, complex projects.
Key Responsibilities 1. Workstream & Program Management (Approx. 40%)Manage and support multiple concurrent projects and programs across regions and functions.
Communicate project objectives, timelines, dependencies, and activities to key stakeholders and team members.
Prioritize and manage competing initiatives to ensure alignment with business goals.
Select and utilize project implementation documentation, including implementation toolkits, migration schedules, and project plans.
Identify, assess, and escalate project risks and potential business impacts to leadership.
Develop strategic project documentation, including business cases, assessments, communication plans, and detailed project plans.
Prepare and present project updates, status reports, and recommendations to senior-level leadership.
Support and lead decision-making processes required to advance assigned programs and projects.
Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making on key project items to ensure forward progress.
Proactively follow and adhere to established project governance and control standards.
Identify, manage, and resolve issues across assigned projects and programs.
Manage deliverables, mitigate risks, and escalate issues as appropriate.
Ensure change control processes are functioning effectively and aligned across functions and regions.
Serve as the Finance Project Manager on initiatives such as business-led system integrations and acquisitions.
Partner with IT program teams to ensure Finance controls are in place, including segregation of duties, UAT validation, and compliance checkpoints.
Lead go/no-go readiness efforts and support leadership approval processes.
Coordinate globally across functions to align Finance work streams.
Participate in frequent virtual meetings with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Prepare project documentation, status updates, and detailed project plans in collaboration with project planning teams.
Support the implementation of Ryke as the enterprise project management tool (not yet implemented).
Current tools include Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheet.
Assist with transition planning, adoption, and process alignment as new tools are introduced.
Approximately 5 years of project management experience (candidates with less experience may be considered if they have a strong accounting or finance background).
Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.
Strong leadership mindset with the ability to work confidently with senior functional leaders.
Excellent communication, listening, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and manage ambiguity effectively.
Background in Finance or Accounting (degree preferred but not required).
PMP certification preferred.
Experience supporting Finance work streams for system integrations or acquisitions.
