GRADE: Exempt w/ commission (base salary w/ commissions)
Summary:This position is responsible for servicing current customers, clients, and vendors, along with seeking out new customers, opportunities, and expanding MWT in the market. Bringing excitement and positive energy to customers about our products. Growth in the market is extremely important. Communication - this position reports directly with the location manager and Tile manager/Tile Buyer. Notes and detailed summaries of visits with customers is a top priority.
Planning customer visits strategically, making sample boards and gathering needed material for visits and meetings is part of the day-to-day duties. This position is part of a team and also assists at the store with day-to-day operations such as fielding calls, assisting with customer (walk-in) material selections, office duties, inventory, overall, any branch needs.
- Develop a strong knowledge base of all tile lines carried by MWT.
- Plans and schedules visits to existing and potential new accounts in assigned territory; establishing and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Prepare and present sample boards, educational material, proposals, quotes and recommend products based on clients' needs.
- Track and log daily visits, calls, meetings with customers on "Call Reports" and submit monthly for review by location manager and Tile manager. Being detailed is extremely beneficial.
- Communicate with management about color, styles, materials that customers communicate desire to see options for.
- Identify prospective clients, make contact, and work to introduce MWT products.
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
- Answer questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
- Plan, assemble, and stock product displays in stores, or make recommendations.
- Maintain detail files and type proposals, letters, and miscellaneous correspondence.
- Perform other job-related duties such as replying to emails, answering phones, helping in-house customer with material selections, and other assigned to or as operational needs dictate duties.
- Detailed, positive communication via email, in-person, and written with all customers and employees.
- Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential requirement for the job. You must be at work.
- Possession of an associate's degree or two years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, organize and prioritize.
- Ability to identify and/or follow up sales leads and referrals.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- Proficient on computers.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
- Light work. Exerting up to 35 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Primarily exposed to Indoor elements.
- Daily local / inner-state travel required.
- Able to lift and carry tile samples, layout boards, and other sales material.
