Field Service Technician

Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Service team in Urbandale, IA. Are you a mechanically minded problem solver who enjoys working independently and providing exceptional customer service? As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the trusted expert our customers rely on to keep their commercial cleaning equipment operating at peak performance. You'll enjoy the independence of working in the field while receiving the support, training, and resources needed to build a long-term career.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cleaning equipment at customer locations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers by delivering professional, responsive service.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair recommendations, and service updates with customers and internal teams.
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Manage parts inventory within your company vehicle to support efficient repairs.
  • Utilize electrical testing and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and certification programs.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience repairing, maintaining, or servicing equipment in the field or in a service environment.
  • Ability to work independently while managing daily service responsibilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts manuals.
  • Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
