The Product Data and Pricing Manager is a critical hybrid role that sits at the intersection of product, marketing, and operations. This individual owns the integrity and lifecycle of all product data, drives channel pricing strategy to achieve corporate financial objectives, and provides product portfolio recommendations to support financial and operational objectives.
This role helps bring structure, discipline, and data-informed thinking to pricing, marketing and product processes—contributing to profitability, operational efficiency, and scalable growth across channels.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Product Data Management- Own and maintain the complete product master data record for all SKUs, including additions, changes, and deactivations across all systems.
- Create and manage data sheets to ensure data accuracy and completeness in ERP and any downstream platforms used by sales, marketing, and operations.
- Analyze product-level sales history, velocity, and margin trends to surface actionable insights for the product team.
- Identify underperforming or end-of-life SKUs and develop fact-based recommendations for discontinuation, including transition plans to minimize customer disruption.
- Recognize growth signals within product lines or categories and proactively recommend portfolio expansion opportunities, including line extensions, adjacent SKUs, or new configurations.
- Build and maintain reporting or dashboards that give the product director and commercial leadership a clear, current view of portfolio health.
- Develop, implement, and maintain pricing for all products across all sales channels (D2C, Ecommerce, Retail, Distribution).
- Manage the quoting process and ensure pricing requests are handled accurately and within approved margin parameters.
- Analyze channel performance and pricing effectiveness; recommend adjustments to protect and grow margin.
- Align pricing strategies with corporate financial targets and collaborate with finance to model the impact of pricing decisions.
- Monitor competitor pricing, product portfolios, and go-to-market activity on an ongoing basis.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in the market and communicate insights to the product and marketing teams.
- Track industry trends and emerging product categories relevant to the business.
- Act as the primary conduit between marketing, operations, and purchasing on all product and pricing matters.
- Work closely with the Director of Product to support the R&D pipeline and new product launch process, from early-stage data setup through commercial readiness.
- Provide sourcing context and cost intelligence to inform product development decisions.
- Support sales and marketing teams with accurate, timely product and pricing information.
- 3-5+ years of experience in product management, pricing, category management, or a related role in a product-driven organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of product data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Excel or similar tools for pricing and margin analysis.
- Experience working cross-functionally across marketing, operations, and/or purchasing.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Clear communicator, comfortable presenting data and recommendations to leadership.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite) and/or PIM platforms.
- Background in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial/commercial product sectors.
- Familiarity with BOM structures and product costing.
- Experience supporting new product development or stage-gate processes.
- Exposure to competitive intelligence tools or market research methodologies.
