WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing procurement and management of specific categories of goods and services — with a primary focus on Marketing & Communications — ensuring alignment with business objectives, cost-efficiency, and compliance with procurement policies. This role also plays a key part in building structured procurement processes and developing the tools and frameworks that support them.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Support the Marketing & Communications category, acting as the primary procurement partner for those business teams and managing their supplier ecosystem end-to-end Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with Sim Corp's business goals and operational requirements
Drive structured, process-oriented procurement execution: managing intake, vendor accreditation, due diligence, contracting, and renewals in a consistent and scalable manner
Lead vendor accreditation and due diligence processes when onboarding new suppliers, coordinating across legal, compliance, and finance stakeholders
Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring suppliers meet performance expectations and service levels
Support the development and implementation of back-office procurement tools and process improvements across functions
Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate options, and recommend cost-effective solutions
Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and ensure procurement activities support their goals
Monitor supplier performance against SLAs, quality standards, and contractual obligations
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, mitigating risk across all procurement activities
Analyze spend data and report on key metrics including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and increase operational efficiency
Lead procurement for complex or high-value contracts, including tendering, evaluation, and negotiation
Provide mentorship and support to junior category managers and procurement staffTYPE OF WORK THIS ROLE ENGAGES WITH:
Day-to-day procurement operations for the Marketing & Communications function, including briefing, supplier selection, PO management, and vendor governance
Vendor onboarding: coordinating accreditation, due diligence reviews, and supplier registration processes
Procurement tooling: identifying gaps in back-office systems and contributing to the development or rollout of new tools across procurement functions
Spend management: processing and analyzing spend data to segment suppliers, identify savings, and drive consolidation opportunities
Close coordination with SAM on tool rationalization, licensing optimization, and cost governance
Supporting governance principles such as avoiding overlap, optimizing vendor portfolios, and managing compliance riskWHAT WE VALUE:3 years or more of experience in category management and procurement, ideally with exposure to Marketing & Communications or similar indirect categories
Solid understanding of end-to-end procurement lifecycle (intake, vendor accreditation, contracting, renewal)
Experience running structured procurement processes and working with cross-functional stakeholders including suppliers, legal, finance, and business teams
