Overview
We are currently looking to hire a Quality Control Technician at our Huntington, UT location. This role involves skilled work in safely sampling and testing soils, aggregates, and asphalt materials. Responsibilities include collecting materials, performing accurate testing, documenting results, and maintaining proper reporting standards. A company vehicle will be used for field work.
Responsibilities- Safely collect and prepare material samples for testing.
- Set up, operate, and maintain nuclear density gauges for asphalt and soil compaction density gauge operation.
- Apply knowledge of state DOT and agency specifications.
- Perform testing procedures based on certification level in construction materials testing.
- Record and report test results accurately and on time.
- Notify project leadership of any non-compliant results.
- Maintain daily logs and submit reports to lab leadership.
- Perform asphalt coring for density checks and investigations.
- Keep lab and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and MSHA safety standards.
- Carry out physical job tasks such as lifting, walking, and climbing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–2 years of prior quality control or materials testing experience preferred.
Preferred Certifications & Skills
- WAQTC certification.
- CAPA / LabCAT Level A & B certifications.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
