Overview
The Garfield County Office of Utah State University Extension seeks a qualified individual who would be responsible for providing enriching after school clubs for students. Instructor positions are available at all three Garfield County sites (Bryce Valley, Escalante, and Panguitch). We need educators to teach a variety of subject matters, such as, but not limited to, Sewing, STEM, Cake Decorating, Music, Art, etc.
Instructors may teach 4+ days a week depending on program needs and instructor availability. Instructors need to be available from 3:00-6:00 on days they are teaching Monday through Thursday and 12:00-1:30 on Fridays. Job offer is contingent on the completion of a successful background check. Pay is based on qualifications – starting at $12 up to $16.

- Plan and teach engaging after school programming.
- Keep an attendance record of students who attend your club.
- Attend required training.
- Attend 4-H after school events such as 4-H service projects, club showcases, and Family Night Out events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must work effectively with youth, families, and school.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with good follow-through.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth.
- Past experience in the 4-H Program as a youth or volunteer.
- Skills related to STEM and other after school subject matter.

ADA and EnvironmentThis position requires moderate physical effort. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, and standing. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment. The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of each department's work. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments, with variations in temperature and weather conditions.
Indoors, they may sit and perform repetitive hand motions; outdoors, they may be exposed to weather and other conditions. Lifting up to 50 pounds and walking/standing for long periods may be required.
